Now I become myself. It's taken time, many years and places...

i've been in good company (part 2)

Unpacked sweaters, scarves and boots from Oregon trip

Packed sundresses and sandals for a visit to the 113 degree Arizona desert

Greeted at the airport by one of my brothers, a much adored niece (I first became an aunt at age 7) and two superfantastic and equally adored great-nieces, ages 10 and 6

Lovingly welcomed into my mother's embrace and well air conditioned childhood home

Fed Cheerios to the peacock (by request)

Made it through a brief power outage without excessive panic  (no air conditioning + intense heat = bit of fret)

Realized I forgot my swimsuit

Introduced my great-nieces to Punky Brewster (big fans)

Road trip to Eegee's (an Arizona thing) where I went with half lemon, half pina colada (if you're familiar)

Admitted to myself I wasn't really going to use the running shoes I packed

Assisted in sewing paper heart banners to string throughout the house

Said goodbye too soon

Intense heat indeed, makes 76 degrees feel refreshing!

I would definitely not be using running shoes in 113 deg weather either. Possibly I would need nothing but couch cushions, LOL. (I tell Atlas that he's lucky he came to live with me because his breeder wound up moving to Phoenix. Considering that he wilts when it turns 70, the thought of him in AZ summers makes me laugh a little.)

Sounds like a lovely visit! I am loving the peacock!

I always bring a pair of running shoes that I dont' often use. What am I thinking to bring so much each time? Like I'll run out of things to do in a new place.

yes, remembering my swimsuit would have been so much better than packing the running shoes for this trip.

i totally want a peacock someday. :)

way to go on your 5k training kelly!

I can count on one hand the times I have used the running shoes...Oregon would not be on that hand. Going to Alaska on Tues...packing the shoes....might have to run from a bear.

Wishing you well, beautiful woman!
