a lazy summer afternoon

I spent a lazy summer afternoon

reading, writing, and doodling

while lying on a quilt in the grass.

I dashed inside to grab a quick snack

and then...

I lost my spot.

(He was kind enough to share, however.)

ah, sounds like just my sort of afternoon..... dog included.

Love this post, it made me smile. I'm all for lazy days.

Mimi is really good at doing that, too. :)

Loving this picture and the idea of sitting outside with a pile of books and a furry companion....allowing the day to play out around me as I escape inside the world of words. It reminds me of our time together that is forever etched in my heart. Love to you.

Perfection.

Atlas is ever so good at that too. Especially when I spread out beach towels (never mind that I always spread one out for him - apparently mine is larger and therefore clearly meant for him). Once, I went to the beach with some friends. The husband shook out a lovely giant beach blanket and laid it on the ground. Atlas walked over and made himself at home on the entire blanket. We all had to laugh.

I love your connection w/ your dogs. I commented on your post when you lost your dalmation. So beautifully written, not sure if you saw it b/c I commented way after you wrote it. My dogs were like my children, like family. I lost both of mine this last year and not ready for another yet, but one day. I love seeing your pics and the relationship b/c this is something exactly like what would happen at my house.
